Goblet
Holman Bible Dictionary
KJV term for a bowl-shaped drinking vessel without handles (Song of Song of Solomon 7:2 ). In contemporary English a goblet is a drinking vessel with a foot and stem. Modern translations are divided over the reference in Song of Solomon: bowl (RSV, TEV), goblet (NAS, NIV, REB). The underlying Hebrew term is translated basin (Exodus 24:6 ) and bowls (Isaiah 22:24 ) elsewhere.
