Holman Bible Dictionary
(dihk' lah) Personal name apparently meaning, “date palm.” Grandson of Eber (Genesis 10:27 ). He was apparently the original ancestor of a tribe in Arabia which settled in an oasis where dates were grown, but nothing more is known of him.
