Canker
Holman Bible Dictionary
KJV translation in 2 Timothy 2:17 and James 5:3 . In general, canker may refer to any source of corruption or debasement. In 2 Timothy 2:17 the reference is to gangrene which is the local death of soft tissues due to loss of blood supply—a condition that can spread from infected to uninfected tissue. In James 5:3 the reference is to rust. See Rust .
