Boot
Holman Bible Dictionary
The figure mentioned in Isaiah 9:5 of the booted Assyrian warrior (KJV translates the rare Hebrew word for boot as “battle”). Assyrian reliefs from the period of Sennacherib depict soldiers wearing leather boots laced up to the knee which is in contrast to the sandals worn by the Israelite soldier of the period. God's Messiah promised full victory even over the more-impressively dressed army.
