Holman Bible Dictionary
(behth' cahr) Place name meaning, “house of sheep.” Final site of battle where God thundered from heaven to defeat the Philistines for Samuel (1 Samuel 7:11 ). The location is not known unless copyists changed an original Beth Horon as some Bible students think.
