Holman Bible Dictionary
(ay' tad) Personal name meaning, “thorn.” Owner of threshing floor east of the Jordan River where Joseph stopped to mourn the death of his father before carrying Jacob's embalmed body across the Jordan to Machpelah for burial. The place was named Abel-mizraim (Genesis 50:10-11 ). See Abel-mizraim .
