Amber
Holman Bible Dictionary
(am' buhr) A yellowish or brownish translucent resin that takes a good polish. Also translated as gleaming bronze (RSV, but amber in NRSV), glowing metal (NAS, NIV), bronze (TEV, Ezekiel 1:4 ,Ezekiel 1:4,1:27; Ezekiel 8:2 ). Some think that the Greek (Septuagint) and Latin (Vulgate) translations of the Old Testament suggest the substance known as electrum—an amalgam of silver and gold. See Jewelry, Jewels.
