Agate
Holman Bible Dictionary
(ag' uhte) A translucent quartz with concentric bands, generally white and brown. Agate translates three words in the Bible: a stone in the breastpiece of judgment (Exodus 28:19; Exodus 39:12 ), the material in the pinnacles of Jerusalem (Isaiah 54:12; see Ezekiel 27:16 ), and the third jewel in the foundation wall of the new Jerusalem (Revelation 21:19 ).
