Comments: Pungent red onions are nutritional wonders, containing three different groups of health-enhancing compounds: thiosulfinates, fructans, and flavonoids. ARS scientists in Madison, Wisconsin, are working to develop onions that are milder in taste but still chock-full of heart-healthy nutrients.

Comments: Mixed onions: red and brown onions, with and without skin, whole and sliced and in rings.

Onion. Allium cepa. בצלbətsāl - Strongs: H1211.

From Easton: Onion - The Israelites in the wilderness longed for the "onions and garlick of Egypt" (Numbers 11:5). This was the _betsel_ of the Hebrews, the Allium cepe of botanists, of which it is said that there are some thirty or forty species now growing in Palestine. The onion is "the 'undivided' leek, _unio_, _unus_, one."
