Verses 1-12

Psalms 144:3 LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!

Psalms 144:3 Scripture Reference - Note a similar passage:

Psalms 8:4, “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?”

Psalms 144:11 Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:

Psalms 144:11 “and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood” - Comments - Men use their right hand in making promises and vows, with a handshake or by taking an oath. Therefore, a man who breaks his vow would have given his right hand in falsehood.

Psalms 144:12-14 Comments The Purpose of War - In Psalms 144:1 God teaches us to make war. Psalms 144:12-14 shows us the righteous purpose of war, which is to bring peace and prosperity to a nation.
