Verse 7

4:7 begotten (b-19) Or 'is born.' as ch. 3.9.

Verse 9

4:9 us (c-4) 'In our case,' in respect of us. The idea of the love of God remains absolute. only it has been shown 'as respects us in this,' &c.

Verse 12

4:12 us. (d-24) En , 'of which we are the objects;' but it is more than 'towards.'

Verse 16

4:16 to (d-13) En , 'of which we are the objects;' but it is more than 'towards.'
