יֵצֶר m. with suff. יִצְרוֹ.
(1) frame, formation; Psalms 103:14, כִּי־הוּא יָדַע יִצְרֵנוּ “for he knoweth our frame,” i.e. knows how or whence we have been formed; hence, a thing framed, as earthenware, Isaiah 29:16 specially an idol, Habakkuk 2:18.
(2) Metaph. a meditation, thought, more fully יֵצֶר לֵב Genesis 8:21, 6:5 Deuteronomy 31:21 יֵצֶר סָמוּךְ “a firm mind,” a firm soul, i.e. a man of firm mind, Isaiah 26:3 (comp. Psalms 112:8).
(3) [Jezer], pr.n. of a son of Naphtali, Genesis 46:24. Patron. יִצְרִי Numbers 26:49 which latter word is also pr.n. of another man, 1 Chronicles 25:11 (for which there is in verse 1 Chronicles 25:3צְרִי).
