Qal Perfect 3 masculine singular ׳צ Exodus 21:13 (E; absolute); Participle with accusative וְאַתָּה צֹדֶהאֶתנַֿפְשִׁי לְקִחְתָּהּ 1 Samuel 24:11 (Gi; v. 1 Samuel 24:12 van d. H. Baer).

II. [צָדָה] verb lay waste (Late Hebrew id. (rare), Aramaic צְדִי, , id.); —

Niph`al Perfect 3 plural נִצְדּוּעָרֵיהֶם Zephaniah 3:6 their cities are laid waste.

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

צָדָה [see below] (kindred to the verb צוּד), to lie in wait for any one, followed by an acc. Exodus 21:13 followed by נֶפֶשׁ to lie in wait for life, 1 Samuel 24:12.

Niphal, according to the Chaldee and Syriac use, to be desolated (perhaps prop. to be taken by lying in wait), Zephaniah 3:6.
