Vocabulary of the Greek NT

lit. ";a little boat"; (Mark 3:9 : Vg navicula), but hardly to be distinguished from the ordinary πλοῖον (John 6:22; John 6:24) : cf. Ostr 1051.4 (A.D. 101) πλοιαρίου, and the late P Gen I. 14.6 (Byz.) τὰ ναῦλα τοῦ μικροῦ πλοιαρίου. For the double dim. πλοιαρίδιον (not in LS8), cf. P Cairo Preis 48.8 (ii/A.D.) where it is apparently interchangeable with πλοῖονκαὶ τὸ μὲν πλοῖόν σοι, ὡς ἠθέλησας, σκέψομαι. καλῶς δ᾽ ἔχει σε ἐνθάδε ἐλθόντα μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ μένειν μέχρι τὸ π ̣λοιαρίδιον εὑρῶμεν. Πλοιάριον refers to a lamp of some kind in P Grenf II. 111.26 (v/vi A.D.) πλοιάρ (ια) χαλκ () δ ̄.
