ἐκμυκτηρίζω: imperfect ἐξεμυκτήριζον; to deride by turning up the nose, to sneer at, scoff at: τινα, Luke 16:14; Luke 23:35. (For לָעַג, Psalm 2:4; (Psalm 34:16 ()); 2 Kings 19:21 (here the simple verb); 1 Esdr. 1:49 Alex.; Ev. Nicod. c. 10. Secular writings use the simple verb (from μυκτήρ the nose); (cf.
