Vocabulary of the Greek NT
The LXX compound ἐργοδιώκτης (Exodus 3:8 al ) is found in the same sense in the correspondence of the ";architect"; Kleon, P Petr II. 4(1).2 (B.C. 255–4), where certain quarry-men complain that they are being ill-treated by the ";ganger"; Apollonius, by being kept at work at quarries of hard stone—ἀδικούμεθα ὑπὸ Ἀπολλωνίου τοῦ ἐργοδιώκτου ἐμβαλὼν ἡμᾶς εἰς τὴν στερεὰν πέτραν.
