1027) db (בד BD) AC: Separate CO: Alone AB: Destruction: The pictograph b is a representation of a tent. The d is a picture of the tent door. These two pictographs represent "the door of the tent". The father of the tent often sat alone at the door of the tent. Here he could receive shade from the sun, watch over his household and watch the road for approaching strangers. (see Genesis 18:1,2) (eng: bad - as being alone)

II. בַּד, בָּ֑ד noun masculine separation, concrete part (, portion) — suffix (always with לְ) לְבַדִּי, לְבַדּוֺ etc., 3 feminine plural Genesis 21:28 לְבַדְּהֶן, Genesis 21:29 לְבַדָּ֫נָה; —
1 with לְ, only in singular, לְבַד properly in a state of (see below לְ) separation, alone, by itself (French à part).
a. Exodus 26:9 (= Exodus 36:16) five curtains לְבַד by themselves, and six curtains לְבַד by themselves, Judges 7:5 him shalt thou set לבד apart, Zechariah 12:12-14.
