III. עמר (√ of following; compare Arabic , live, live long; also worship; proper name etc.; RS K 266 proposes meaning worshipper, עָמְרִי worshipper of ׳י (compare We Skizzen iii. 165) against him Nö ZMG xl (1886), 185, who compare meaning live, , life).

עֲמֹרָה Gomorrha (LXX. Γομόῤῥα), pr.n. (perhaps i.q. عِمَارَةُ “culture,” “habitation” [“prob. depression”]), one of the four cities in the valley of Siddim, which were sunk in the Dead Sea, which is commonly mentioned together with Sodom, Genesis 10:19, 13:10.
