[גָּלָל] noun [masculine] account, only in construct stative with בְּ, בִּגְלַל on account of, for the sake of ( a great and momentous matter; on thy account; compare מִן בִּגְלַל דְּ because that in Palestinian ᵑ7, as Psalm 4:9, and in Jerusalem Syriac PS731) Genesis 39:5 ׳י blessed the house of the Egyptian בִּגְלַל יוֺסֵף on account of Joseph, Deuteronomy 15:10; Deuteronomy 18:12; 1 Kings 14:16; Jeremiah 11:17; Jeremiah 15:4; with suffix בִּגְלָלֶ֑ךָ Genesis 30:27; בִּגְלָלֵךְ Genesis 12:13; בִּגְלַלְכֶם Deuteronomy 1:37; Micah 3:12.

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

גָּלָל m.

(1)  dung, so called from its globular form, i.q. גֵּלֶל, see the root No. 1; 1 Kings 14:10. Arab. حَلَّةُ globular dung of animals, as of camels, sheep.

(2) circumstance, cause, reason; Germ. Um=ftand; comp. as to the etymology סִבָּה, אוֹדוֹת, whence בִּגְלַל, with suffix בִּגְלָלֶךָ, בִּגְלַלְכֶם, prep. because of. Genesis 39:5; Deuteronomy 15:10, 18:12 Jeremiah 11:17, 15:4. To this answers the Arabic من جلالك and اجللك من (with Elif prosthetic).

(3) [Galal], pr.n. of two men (perh. “weighty,” “worthy,” as أَجَلُّ)

(a) 1 Chronicles 9:15.
