פְּרִי , in pause פֶּ֑רִי, with suff. פִּרְיִי, פִּרְיוֹ; but פֶּרְיְךָ, פֶּרְיְכֶם Hosea 14:9; Ezekiel 36:8 and פְּרִיהֶם, פְּרִיהֶן Amos 9:11; Jeremiah 29:28, m. (from the root פָּרָה).

(1) fruit, whether of the earth and field (corn), Genesis 4:3; Isaiah 4:2; Psalms 72:16, 107:34, or of a tree, Genesis 1:12, 29 whence עֵץ פְּרִי fruit-bearing tree, Genesis 1:11. Metaph. used of the result of labour or endeavour, the image often being preserved. Isaiah 3:10, “ye shall eat the fruit of your hands;” ye shall experience the results; Proverbs 1:31; Jeremiah 6:19, 17:10 Psalms 104:13, “the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works;” i.e. it is watered with rain, which is the fruit of the sky and clouds.
