Rh. 1373b21; ἀ. εἴς τι D. 37.58; περί τι Plu. 2.159c: — ἐν ἀδικήματι θέσθαι to consider as a wrong, Th. 1.35; ἀ. θεῖναί τι D. 14.37; ψηφίζεσθαί τι ἐν ἀ. εἶναι Hyp. Eux. 20.

Vocabulary of the Greek NT

The concrete noun from ἀδικεῖν, defined in Aristotle (ap. Thayer) as τὸ ἄδικον ὅταν πραχθῇ, occurs frequently. So BGU IV. 1098.22 (i/B.C.), a marriage contract, of a ";wrong"; done to the wife (εἰς αὐτὴν ἀδίκημα), P Lille I. 29.1 (iii/B.C.) ἐὰν δέ τις περὶ ἀδικήματος ἑ [τέ ]ρο [υ ] οἰκέτηι ὄντι δίκην γραψάμενος ὡς ἐλευθέρωι καταδικάσηται, P Amh II. 33.18 (c. B.C. 157) ἐνφανισμῶν περί τινων ἀδικημάτω [ν ] καὶ παραλογειῶν σίτου τε καὶ χαλκοῦ ";misdeeds and peculations,"; Michel 472.19 f., 884.8 f., 1009.87, etc.
