For the literal sense ";enlighten,"; ";illumine,"; as in Luk. 11:36, cf. Wünsch AF p. 16.13 (iii/A.D.) ὁρκίζω σε τὸν θεὸν τὸν φωτίζοντα καὶ σκοτίζοντα τὸν κόσμον.
