σιτευτός, σιτευτη, σιτευτόν (σιτεύω, to feed with wheat, to fatten), fattened, fatted: Luke 15:23, 27, 30. (Jeremiah 26:21 (); 1 Kings 4:23 (etc.); Xenophon, Polybius, Athen., (others).)

STRONGS NT 4618a: σιτίον σιτίον, σιτιου, τό (diminutive of σῖτος);

1. corn, grain: Acts 7:12 L T Tr WH. In secular writings also,

2. food made from grain (Herodotus 2, 36).

3. eatables, victuals, provisions ((Herodotus), Aristophanes, Xenophon, Plato, Demosthenes, others).

";a grape"; (Revelation 14:18 : see Swete’s note ad l.) : PSI IV. 345.12 (B.C. 256) Κριτίας σταφυλῆς φυλάκων, BGU IV. 1118.14 (B.C. 22) σταφυλῆς βοτρύας, P Oxy I. 116.18 (as amended II. p. 319) κ [ ]στην σταφυλῆς λείαν καλῆς, ";a box of exceedingly good grapes,"; and BGU II. 417.13 (ii/iii A.D.) περὶ τοῦ κοφίνου τῆς σταφυλῆς.

The word is used collectively in P Oxy XVI. 1834.3 (v/vi A.D.) ἡ σταφυλὴ ἐφανίσθη < >νεκεν τοῦ νέου ὕδατος, ";the grapes have been destroyed owing to the inundation"; (Edd.), ib. 1913.49 (c. A.D. 555 ?) εἰς χρ (είαν) τῆς σταφυλ (ῆς) τῶν πωμαρ (ίων) ἔξω τῆς πύλης, ";for the requirements of the grapes of the orchards outside the gate"; (Edd.). On an ostrakon-letter of mid. iii/B.C., published in Archiv vi. p. 221, we have ἐκ τῶν κοφίνων σταφυλη ̣̑ς βοτρ ̣[. ?]ο ̣ι β ̄. A dim. σταφυλιων (σταφύλιον ?) is found in P Fay 127.8 (ii/iii A.D.), and in P Tebt II. 585 (ii/A.D.) σταφυληγοῦντες and σακκηγοῦντες are mentioned.
