Arist. Pr. 960b18, cf. Σίλας, or better Σιλᾶς (Winer-Schmiedel Gr. p. 74), a Semitic name which is Latinized into Σιλουανός (q.v.). It is found in a sepulchral inscr. Cagnat III. 817.1 Σίλα [ς Ν ]ενησίος ὁ καὶ Κλεόνεικος.
