blameless, Il. 12.109, Archil. 6.2, Pi. P. 2.73, etc.; faultless, ποιημάτιον, λόγοι, D.S. 33.5, 7; of victims, unblemished, Aristeas 93, cf. Ph. Fr. 69H.; ἄσπιλοι καὶ ἀ. 2 Peter 3:14, cf. Eus. Mynd. Fr. 21; in epitaphs, CIG 4642 (Palestine), IG 14.1937 (Ravenna). Adv. -τως Hdt. 3.82.
ἀμώμητος, (μωμάομαι), that cannot be censured, blameless: Philippians 2:15 R G (cf. τέκνα μωμητά, Deuteronomy 32:5); 2 Peter 3:14. (Homer, Iliad 12, 109; (Hesiod, Pindar, others;) Plutarch, frat. amor. 18; often in Anthol.)

ἀμώμητος, only found in 2 Peter 3:14 and in literary Hellenistic (Anthology), may be quoted from an Alexandrian epitaph in Preisigke 332, Π [.. . .]αικ [. . ἀμ ]ώμητε, εὐψύχι, (ἐτῶν) γ ̄ : so the word is used here of a little child. In ib. 367, Κλέοβι ἀμώμητε, εὐψύχι, (ἐτῶν) κ ̄ε ̄, it belongs to a young man, dying prematurely. Add the ";Apocrypha Moïsis,"; P Leid Wiii. 4 ἧκε κύριε ἀμώμητος καὶ ἀπήμαντος.
