With the use of ἐκβολὴν ποιεῖσθαι = ";jettison"; in Acts 27:18, cf. the directions on the back of a mummy-ticket, Preisigke 2052, ἐκβολὴν ποιῆσαι ἰς ὅρμον κώμης Ἔμμαυ : so ib. 1207. In P Hib I. 110 recto.9 (c. B.C. 270) the word is found in a very broken context, and in BGU IV. 1116.13 (B.C. 13) we have ἐ ̣π ̣ι ̣βολῆς καὶ ἐγβολῆς.
