confined in the NT to Romans 3:25, is seen in P Giss I. 50.4 (A.D. 259) καψά [ρια πο ]λ ̣ειτικὰ δύο προγ ̣ε [γονότ ]α τῷ μετηλλαχότι [π ]ατρί [μον, ";two dressing-rooms in the town-baths which belonged formerly to my deceased father"; : cf. Syll 279 (= .3 601).9 (B.C. 193) διὰ τὴν προγεγενημένην αὐτῶι δόξαν. In BGU III. 979.1 (A.D. 160–1) αἱ πρ [ογ ]εγονυῖαι is unfortunately followed by an hiatus.
