Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
( ῾Ιερεμώθ ), the name of two men in the Apocrypha.
1. A" son of Ela," who divorced his Gentile wife after the Captivity (1 Esdras 9:27); the JERIMOTH (See JERIMOTH) (q.v.) of the Heb. text (Ezra 10:26).
2. A "son of Mani" who did the same (1 Esdr. 10:30); the RAMOTH (See RAMOTH) (q.v.) of the Heb. text (Ezra 10:29).
