a famous French missionary, who spent twelve years (from 1675 to 1687) in Canada, is the author of Premier Etablissement de la Foi dans !a Nouvelle France, etc. (Paris, 1691, 2 vols.): — Nouvelle Relation de la Gaspesie, etc. (1692).
