Melrose, Scotland, founded, 1150, by Hugo de Morville, Constable of Scotland. It belonged to the Premonstratensian Canons. Burnt by Edward II, 1322, it was restored under Robert I. The tomb of Sir Walter Scott attracts many visitors.
