Then the ^(C1)fifth angel sounded, and I saw a ^(C2)star from heaven which had fallen to the earth; and the ^(C3)key to the ^(C4)shaft of the abyss was given to him.

He opened the shaft of the abyss, and ^(C1)smoke ascended out of the shaft like the smoke of a great furnace; and ^(C2)the sun and the air were darkened from the smoke of the shaft.

Then out of the smoke came ^(C1)locusts ^(F1)upon the earth, and power was given them, as the ^(C2)scorpions of the earth have power.

They were told not to ^(C1)hurt the ^(C2)grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the people who do not have the ^(C3)seal of God on their foreheads.

And ^(F1)they were not permitted to kill ^(F2)anyone, but to torment for ^(C1)five months; and their torment was like the torment of a ^(C2)scorpion when it ^(F3)stings a person.

And in those days ^(C1)people will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death ^(F1)will flee from them!

The ^(F1)(C1)appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle; and on their heads appeared to be crowns like gold, and their faces were like human faces.

They had hair like the hair of women, and their ^(C1)teeth were like the teeth of lions.

They had breastplates like breastplates of iron; and the ^(C1)sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, of many horses rushing to battle.

They have tails like ^(C1)scorpions, and stings; and in their ^(C2)tails is their power to hurt people for ^(C3)five months.

They have as king over them, the angel of the ^(C1)abyss; his name in ^(C2)Hebrew is ^(F1)(C3)Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name ^(F2)Apollyon.

^(C1)The first woe has passed; behold, two woes are still coming after these things.

Then the sixth angel sounded, and I heard ^(F1)a voice from the ^(F2)four ^(C1)horns of the ^(C2)golden altar which is before God,

saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the ^(C1)four angels who are bound at the ^(C2)great river Euphrates."

And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were ^(C1)released, so that they would kill a ^(C2)third of mankind.

The number of the armies of the horsemen was ^(C1)two hundred million; ^(C2)I heard the number of them.

And this is how I saw ^(C1)in my vision the horses and those who sat on them: the riders had breastplates the color of fire, of hyacinth, and of ^(F1)(C2)brimstone; and the heads of the horses are like the heads of lions; and ^(C3)out of their mouths ^(*)came fire and smoke and ^(F1)(C2)brimstone.

A ^(C1)third of mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the ^(C2)fire, the smoke, and the ^(F1)brimstone which came out of their mouths.

For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents and have heads, and with them they do harm.

The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, ^(C1)did not repent of ^(C2)the works of their hands so as not to ^(C3)worship demons and ^(C4)the idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk;

and they ^(C1)did not repent of their murders, nor of their ^(C2)witchcraft, nor of their ^(C3)sexual immorality, nor of their thefts.

I saw another ^(C1)strong angel ^(C2)coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the ^(C3)rainbow was on his head, and ^(C4)his face was like the sun, and his ^(C5)feet like pillars of fire;

and he had in his hand a ^(C1)little scroll, which was open. He placed ^(C2)his right foot on the sea and his left on the land;

and he cried out with a loud voice, ^(C1)as when a lion roars; and when he had cried out, the ^(C2)seven peals of thunder ^(F1)uttered their voices.

When the seven peals of thunder had spoken, ^(C1)I was about to write; and I ^(C2)heard a voice from heaven, saying, "^(C3)Seal up the things which the seven peals of thunder have spoken, and do not write them."

Then the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land ^(C1)raised his right hand to heaven,

^(C1)and swore by ^(C2)Him who lives forever and ever, ^(C3)who created heaven and the things in it, and the earth and the things in it, and the sea and the things in it, that ^(C4)there will no longer be a delay,

but in the days of the voice of the ^(C1)seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then ^(C2)the mystery of God is finished, as He announced to His servants the prophets.

Then ^(C1)the voice which I heard from heaven, I heard again speaking with me, and saying, "Go, take ^(C2)the scroll which is open in the hand of the angel who ^(C2)stands on the sea and on the land."

And I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little scroll. And he ^(*)said to me, "^(C1)Take it and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey."

I took the little scroll from the angel's hand and ate it, and in my mouth it was sweet as honey; and when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter.

And ^(C1)they ^(*)said to me, "You must ^(C2)prophesy again concerning ^(C3)many peoples, nations, languages, and ^(C4)kings."

Then there was given to me a ^(F1)(C1)measuring rod like a staff; ^(F2)and ^(C2)someone said, "Get up and measure the ^(F3)temple of God and the altar, and those who worship in it.

"^(F1)Leave out the ^(C1)courtyard which is outside the ^(F2)temple and do not measure it, because ^(C2)it has been given to the nations; and they will ^(C2)trample ^(C3)the holy city for ^(C4)forty-two months.

"And I will grant authority to my two ^(C1)witnesses, and they will prophesy for ^(C2)1,260 days, clothed in ^(C3)sackcloth."

These are the ^(C1)two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.

And if anyone wants to harm them, ^(C1)fire flows out of their mouth and devours their enemies; and so if anyone wants to harm them, ^(C2)he must be killed in this way.

These have the power to ^(C1)shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during ^(C2)the days of their prophesying; and they have power over the waters to ^(C3)turn them into blood, and ^(C4)to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.

When they have finished their testimony, ^(C1)the beast that comes up out of the ^(C2)abyss will ^(C3)make war with them, and overcome them and kill them.

And their dead bodies will lie on the street of the ^(C1)great city which ^(F1)spiritually is called ^(C2)Sodom and ^(C3)Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

Those from ^(C1)the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations will look at their dead ^(F1)bodies for three and a half days, and ^(F2)(C2)will not allow their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.

And ^(C1)those who live on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate; and they will ^(C2)send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented ^(C1)those who live on the earth.

And after the three and a half days, ^(C1)the breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were watching them.

And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "^(C1)Come up here." And they ^(C2)went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them.

And ^(F1)at that time there was a great ^(C1)earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; ^(F2)seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and ^(C2)gave glory to the ^(C3)God of heaven.

The second ^(C1)woe has passed; behold, the third woe is coming quickly.

Then the ^(C1)seventh angel sounded; and there were ^(C2)loud voices in heaven, saying, "^(C3)The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of ^(C4)His ^(F1)Christ; and ^(C5)He will reign forever and ever."

And his tail ^(*)swept away a ^(C1)third of the stars of heaven and ^(C2)hurled them to the earth. And the ^(C3)dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth ^(C4)he might devour her Child.

And ^(C1)she gave birth to a Son, a male, who is going to ^(F1)(C2)rule all the ^(F2)nations with a rod of iron; and her Child was ^(C3)caught up to God and to His throne.

Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she ^(*)had a place prepared by God, so that there ^(F1)she would be nourished for ^(C1)1,260 days.

And there was war in heaven, ^(C1)Michael and his angels waging war with the ^(C2)dragon. The dragon and ^(C3)his angels waged war,

and they did not prevail, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven.

And the great ^(C1)dragon was thrown down, the ^(C2)serpent of old who is called the devil and ^(C3)Satan, who ^(C4)deceives the whole ^(F1)world; he was ^(C5)thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

Then I heard ^(C1)a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the ^(C2)salvation, and the power, and the ^(C1)kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the ^(C3)accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down, the one who accuses them before our God day and night.

And the dragon stood on the sand of the ^(F1)seashore. Then I saw a ^(C1)beast coming up out of the sea, having ^(C2)ten horns and ^(C2)seven heads, and on his horns were ^(C3)ten crowns, and on his heads were ^(C4)blasphemous names.

And the beast that I saw was ^(C1)like a leopard, and his feet were like those of ^(C2)a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of ^(C3)a lion. And the ^(C4)dragon gave him his power and his ^(C5)throne, and great authority.

All who ^(C1)live on the earth will worship him, everyone ^(C2)whose name has not been ^(F1)written ^(C3)since the foundation of the world in the ^(C4)book of life of ^(C5)the Lamb who has been slaughtered.

^(C1)If anyone has an ear, let him hear.

^(C1)If anyone ^(F1)is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; ^(C2)if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is ^(C3)the ^(F2)perseverance and the faith of the ^(F3)saints.

Then ^(C1)I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had ^(C2)two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a ^(C3)dragon.

He ^(C1)exercises all the authority of the first beast ^(F1)(C2)in his presence. And he makes ^(C3)the earth and those who live on it ^(C4)worship the first beast, whose ^(C5)fatal wound was healed.

He ^(C1)performs great signs, so that he even makes ^(C2)fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the presence of people.

And he ^(C1)deceives ^(C2)those who live on the earth because of ^(C3)the signs which it was given him to perform ^(F1)(C4)in the presence of the beast, telling those who live on the earth to make an image to the beast who ^(*)had the ^(C5)wound of the sword and has come to life.

And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even ^(F1)speak and cause ^(C1)all who do not ^(C2)worship the image of the beast to be killed.

And he causes all, ^(C1)the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, ^(F1)to be given a ^(C2)mark on their right hands or on their foreheads,

and he decrees that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the ^(C1)mark, either ^(C2)the name of the beast or ^(C3)the number of his name.

^(C1)Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that ^(C2)of a ^(F1)man; and his number is ^(F2)six hundred and sixty-six.

Then I looked, and behold, ^(C1)the Lamb was standing on ^(C2)Mount Zion, and with Him ^(C3)144,000 who had ^(C4)His name and the ^(C4)name of His Father written ^(C5)on their foreheads.

And I heard a voice from heaven, like ^(C1)the sound of many waters and like the ^(C2)sound of loud thunder, and the voice which I heard was like the sound of ^(C3)harpists playing on their harps.

And they ^(*)sang ^(F1)(C1)a new song before the throne and before the ^(C2)four living creatures and the ^(C3)elders; and ^(C4)no one was able to learn the song except the ^(C5)144,000 who had been ^(C1)purchased from the earth.

^(C1)These are the ones who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are celibate. These are the ones who ^(C2)follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These have been ^(C3)purchased from mankind ^(C4)as first fruits to God and to the Lamb.

And ^(C1)no lie was found in their mouths; they are ^(C2)blameless.

And I saw another angel flying in ^(C1)midheaven with ^(C2)an eternal gospel to preach to ^(C3)those who ^(F1)live on the earth, and to ^(C4)every nation, tribe, language, and people;

and he said with a loud voice, "^(C1)Fear God and ^(C2)give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who ^(C3)made the heaven and the earth, and sea and ^(C4)springs of waters."

And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, "^(F1)(C1)Fallen, fallen is ^(C2)Babylon the great, she who has ^(C3)made all the nations drink of the ^(C4)wine of the ^(F2)passion of her sexual immorality."

Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone ^(C1)worships the beast and his ^(C2)image, and receives a ^(C3)mark on his forehead or on his hand,

he also will drink of the ^(C1)wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed ^(F1)in full strength ^(C2)in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with ^(C3)fire and ^(F2)brimstone in the presence of the ^(C4)holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

"And the ^(C1)smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; ^(C2)they have no rest day and night, those who ^(C3)worship the beast and his ^(C3)image, and ^(F1)whoever receives the ^(C4)mark of his name."

Here is ^(C1)the ^(F1)perseverance of the ^(F2)saints who ^(C2)keep the commandments of God and ^(F3)(C3)their faith in Jesus.

And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, "Write: '^(C1)Blessed are the dead who ^(C2)die in the Lord from now on!'" "Yes," ^(C3)says the Spirit, "so that they may ^(C4)rest from their labors, for their ^(C5)deeds follow with them."

Then I looked, and behold, a ^(C1)white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one ^(C2)like ^(F1)a son of man, with a golden ^(C3)crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand.

And another angel ^(C1)came out of the ^(F1)temple, calling out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, "^(F2)(C2)Put in Your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the ^(C3)harvest of the earth ^(F3)is ripe."

Then He who sat on the cloud ^(F1)swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.

And another angel ^(C1)came out of the ^(F1)temple which is in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle.

Then another angel, ^(C1)the one who has power over fire, came out from ^(C2)the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, "^(F1)(C3)Put in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters ^(F2)from the vine of the earth, ^(C4)because her grapes are ripe."

So the angel ^(F1)swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth, and threw them into ^(C1)the great wine press of the wrath of God.

And ^(C1)the wine press was trampled ^(C2)outside the city, and ^(C3)blood came out from the wine press, up to the horses' bridles, ^(F1)for a distance of ^(F2)1,600 stadia.

Then I saw ^(C1)another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, ^(C2)seven angels who had ^(C3)seven plagues, which are ^(C4)the last, because in them the wrath of God is finished.

And I saw something like a ^(C1)sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who ^(C2)were victorious ^(F1)over the ^(C3)beast and ^(C4)his image and the ^(C5)number of his name, standing on the ^(C1)sea of glass, holding ^(C6)harps of God.

And they ^(*)sang the ^(C1)song of Moses, ^(C2)the bond-servant of God, and the ^(C3)song of the Lamb, saying, "^(C4)Great and marvelous are Your works, ^(C5)Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Your ways, ^(C6)King of the ^(F1)nations!

-"^(C1)Who will not fear You, Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy; For ^(C2)ALL THE NATIONS WILL COME AND WORSHIP BEFORE YOU, For Your ^(F1)(C3)righteous acts have been revealed."

After these things I looked, and ^(C1)the ^(F1)temple of the ^(C2)tabernacle of testimony in heaven was opened,

and the ^(C1)seven angels who had the seven plagues ^(C2)came out of the ^(F1)temple, clothed in ^(F2)linen, clean and bright, and ^(C3)their chests wrapped with golden sashes.

And one of the ^(C1)four living creatures gave the ^(C2)seven angels seven ^(C3)golden bowls full of the ^(C4)wrath of God, who ^(C5)lives forever and ever.

And the ^(F1)temple was filled with ^(C1)smoke from the glory of God and from His power; and no one was able to enter the ^(F1)temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.

Then I heard a loud voice from ^(C1)the ^(F1)temple, saying to the ^(C2)seven angels, "Go and ^(C3)pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God."

So the first angel went and poured out his bowl ^(C1)on the earth; and a harmful and painful ^(C2)sore ^(F1)afflicted the people ^(C3)who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.

The second angel poured out his bowl ^(C1)into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living ^(F1)thing in the sea died.

Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the ^(C1)rivers and the springs of waters; and they ^(C2)became blood.

And I heard the angel of the waters saying, "^(C1)Righteous are You, ^(C2)the One who is and who was, O ^(C3)Holy One, because You ^(C4)judged these things;

for they poured out ^(C1)the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them ^(C2)blood to drink. They ^(F1)deserve it."

And I heard ^(C1)the altar saying, "Yes, ^(C2)Lord God, the Almighty, ^(C3)true and righteous are Your judgments."

And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon ^(C1)the sun, ^(C2)and it was given power to scorch people with fire.

And the people were scorched with ^(F1)fierce heat; and they ^(C1)blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they ^(C2)did not repent so as to ^(C3)give Him glory.

And the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the ^(C1)throne of the beast, and his kingdom became ^(C2)darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain,

and they ^(C1)blasphemed the ^(C2)God of heaven because of their pain and their ^(C3)sores; and they ^(C4)did not repent of their deeds.

The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the ^(C1)great river, the Euphrates; and ^(C2)its water was dried up, so that ^(C3)the way would be prepared for the kings ^(C4)from the ^(F1)east.

And I saw coming out of the mouth of the ^(C1)dragon, and out of the mouth of the ^(C2)beast, and out of the mouth of the ^(C3)false prophet, three ^(C4)unclean spirits like ^(C5)frogs;

for they are ^(C1)spirits of demons, ^(C2)performing signs, which go out to the kings of the ^(C3)entire ^(F1)world, to ^(C4)gather them together for the war of the ^(C5)great day of God, the Almighty.

("Behold, ^(C1)I am coming like a thief. ^(C2)Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, ^(C3)so that he will not walk about naked and people will not see his shame.")

And they ^(C1)gathered them together to the place which ^(C2)in Hebrew is called ^(C3)Har-Magedon.

Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon ^(C1)the air, and a ^(C2)loud voice came out of the ^(F1)(C3)temple from the throne, saying, "^(C4)It is done."

And there were flashes of ^(C1)lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was ^(C2)a great earthquake, ^(C3)such as there had not been since mankind came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty.

^(C1)The great city ^(F1)was split into three parts, and the cities of the ^(F2)nations fell. ^(C2)Babylon the great was ^(C3)remembered in the sight of God, to give her ^(C4)the cup of the wine of ^(F3)His fierce wrath.

And ^(C1)every island fled, and no mountains were found.

And ^(C1)huge ^(F1)hailstones, weighing about ^(F2)a talent each, ^(*)came down from heaven upon people; and people ^(C2)blasphemed God because of the ^(C3)plague of the hail, because ^(F3)the hailstone plague ^(*)was extremely ^(F4)severe.

^(C1)Then one of the ^(C2)seven angels who had the ^(C3)seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, "Come here, I will show you ^(C4)the judgment of the ^(C5)great prostitute who ^(C6)sits on many waters,

with whom ^(C1)the kings of the earth committed acts of sexual immorality, and ^(C2)those who live on the earth ^(C3)became drunk with the wine of her sexual immorality."

And ^(C1)he carried me away ^(F1)(C2)in the Spirit ^(C3)into a wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a ^(C4)scarlet beast, full of ^(C5)blasphemous names, having ^(C6)seven heads and ten horns.

The woman ^(C1)was clothed in purple and scarlet, and ^(F1)adorned with gold, precious ^(F2)stones, and pearls, holding in her hand ^(C2)a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her sexual immorality,

and on her forehead a name was written, ^(F1)a ^(C1)mystery: "^(C2)BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF ^(C3)THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH."

And I saw the woman drunk with ^(C1)the blood of the ^(F1)saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered ^(F2)greatly.

And the angel said to me, "Why ^(F1)do you wonder? I will tell you the ^(C1)mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the ^(C2)seven heads and the ten horns.

"^(C1)The beast that you saw ^(C2)was, and is not, and is about to ^(C3)come up out of the ^(C4)abyss and ^(F1)(C5)go to destruction. And ^(C6)those who live on the earth, ^(C7)whose names have not been written in the book of life ^(C8)from the foundation of the world, will ^(C9)wonder when they see the beast, that he was, and is not, and will ^(F2)come.

"^(C1)Here is the mind which has wisdom. The ^(C2)seven heads are seven mountains upon which the woman sits,

and they are seven ^(C1)kings; five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain a little while.

"The beast which ^(C1)was, and is not, is himself also an eighth and is one of the seven, and he ^(C2)goes to destruction.

"The ^(C1)ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings with the beast ^(C2)for one hour.

"These have ^(C1)one ^(F1)purpose, and they give their power and authority to the beast.

"These will wage ^(C1)war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will ^(C2)overcome them because He is ^(C3)Lord of lords and ^(C3)King of kings; and ^(C4)those who are with Him are the ^(C5)called and chosen and faithful."

And he ^(*)said to me, "The ^(C1)waters which you saw where the prostitute sits are ^(C2)peoples and multitudes, and nations and languages.

"And the ^(C1)ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the prostitute and will make her ^(C2)desolate and ^(C3)naked, and will ^(C4)eat her flesh and will ^(C5)burn her up with fire.

"For ^(C1)God has put it in their hearts to execute His ^(F1)purpose ^(F2)by ^(C2)having a common purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the ^(C3)words of God will be fulfilled.

"The woman whom you saw is ^(C1)the great city, which ^(F1)reigns over the kings of the earth."

After these things I saw another ^(C1)angel ^(C2)coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was ^(C3)illuminated from his glory.

And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, "^(F1)(C1)Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She ^(C2)has become a dwelling place of demons and a ^(F2)prison of every ^(C3)unclean spirit, and a ^(F2)prison of every unclean and hateful bird.

"For all the nations have fallen because of the ^(C1)wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and ^(C2)the kings of the earth have committed acts of sexual immorality with her, and the ^(C3)merchants of the earth have become rich from the ^(F1)excessive wealth of her ^(F2)(C4)luxury."

I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "^(C1)Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive any of her plagues;

for her sins have ^(F1)(C1)piled up as high as heaven, and God has ^(C2)remembered her offenses.

"^(C1)Pay her back even as she has paid, and ^(F1)give back to her double according to her deeds; in the ^(C2)cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her.

"^(C1)To the extent that she glorified herself and ^(C2)lived luxuriously, to the same extent give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, '^(C3)I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning.'

"For this reason ^(C1)in one day her plagues will come, ^(F1)plague and mourning and famine, and she will be ^(C2)burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her ^(C3)is strong.

"And ^(C1)the kings of the earth, who committed acts of sexual immorality and ^(C2)lived luxuriously with her, will ^(C3)weep and mourn over her when they ^(C4)see the smoke of her burning,

^(C1)standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying, '^(C2)Woe, woe, ^(C3)the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in ^(C4)one hour your judgment has come.'

"And the ^(C1)merchants of the earth ^(C2)weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their cargo any more—

cargo of ^(C1)gold, silver, precious ^(F1)stones, and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk, and scarlet; every kind of citron wood, every article of ivory, and every article made from very valuable wood, ^(F2)bronze, iron, and marble;

cinnamon, ^(F1)spice, incense, perfume, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle, sheep, and cargo of horses, carriages, ^(F2)slaves, and ^(C1)human lives.

"The fruit ^(F1)you long for has left you, and all things that were luxurious and splendid have passed away from you and people will no longer find them.

"The ^(C1)merchants of ^(C2)these things, who became rich from her, will ^(C3)stand at a distance because of the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,

saying, '^(C1)Woe, woe, ^(C2)the great city, she who ^(C3)was clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and ^(F1)adorned with gold, precious ^(F2)stones, and pearls;

for in ^(C1)one hour such great wealth has been laid ^(C2)waste!' And ^(C3)every shipmaster and every ^(F1)passenger and sailor, and all who ^(F2)make their living by the sea, ^(C1)stood at a distance,

and were ^(C1)crying out as they ^(C2)saw the smoke of her burning, saying, '^(C3)What city is like ^(C4)the great city?'

"And they threw ^(C1)dust on their heads and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying, '^(C2)Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had ships at sea ^(C3)became rich from her prosperity, for in ^(C2)one hour she has been laid ^(C4)waste!'

"^(C1)Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you ^(F1)saints and ^(C2)apostles and prophets, because ^(C3)God has ^(F2)pronounced judgment for you against her."

Then ^(F1)a ^(C1)strong angel ^(C2)picked up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "So will Babylon, ^(C3)the great city, be thrown down with violence, and ^(C4)will never be found again.

"And ^(C1)the sound of harpists, musicians, flute players, and trumpeters will never be heard in you again; and no craftsman of any craft will ever be found in you again; and the ^(C2)sound of a mill will never be heard in you again;

and the light of a lamp will never shine in you again; and the ^(C1)voice of the groom and bride will never be heard in you again; for your ^(C2)merchants were the powerful people of the earth, because all the nations were deceived ^(C3)by your witchcraft.

"And in her was found the ^(C1)blood of prophets and of ^(F1)saints, and of ^(C2)all who have been slaughtered on the earth."

After these things I heard something like a ^(C1)loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "^(C2)Hallelujah! ^(C3)Salvation, ^(C4)glory, and power belong to our God,

It was given to her to clothe herself in ^(C1)fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the ^(C2)righteous acts of the ^(F1)saints.

His ^(C1)eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many ^(C2)crowns; and He has a ^(C3)name written on Him which no one knows except Himself.

He is clothed with a ^(C1)robe dipped in blood, and His name is called ^(C2)The Word of God.

And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in ^(C1)fine linen, ^(C2)white and clean, were following Him on white horses.

^(C1)From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that ^(C2)with it He may strike down the nations, and He will ^(F1)(C3)rule them with a rod of iron; and ^(C4)He treads the ^(F2)wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.

And on His robe and on His thigh He has ^(C1)a name written: "^(C2)KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."

Then I saw ^(F1)an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to ^(C1)all the birds that fly in ^(C2)midheaven, "^(C3)Come, assemble for the great feast of God,

so that you may ^(C1)eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, ^(C2)both free and slaves, and ^(C3)small and great."

And I saw ^(C1)the beast and ^(C2)the kings of the earth and their armies, assembled to make war against Him who ^(C3)sat on the horse, and against His army.

And the beast was seized, and with him the ^(C1)false prophet who ^(C2)performed the signs ^(F1)(C3)in his presence, by which he ^(C4)deceived those who had received the ^(C5)mark of the beast and those who ^(C6)worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the ^(C7)lake of ^(C8)fire, which burns with ^(F2)brimstone.

And the rest were killed with the sword which ^(C1)came from the mouth of Him who ^(C2)sat on the horse, and ^(C3)all the birds were filled with their flesh.
