1 Children, R337 obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3 SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU, AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH. 4 Fathers, R339 do not provoke your children to anger, but bring R340 them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. 5 Slaves, R341 be obedient to those who are your masters F98 according to the flesh, with fear R342 and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as R343 to Christ; 6 not R344 by F99 way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers, R345 but as slaves R346 of Christ, doing R347 the will of God from the heart. F1007 With good will render F101 service, as R348 to the Lord, and not to men, 8 knowing R349 that whatever R350 good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether R351 slave or free. 9 And masters, do the same things to them, and give R352 up threatening, knowing that both R353 their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no R354 partiality with Him.
